We are leaving for a blissful stay-cation while Mike’s parents tend the young ones…
We will be going to my FAVORITE local place for a little R&R married 14 years style. I will kill the pictures and leave a tiny peek….

happy anniversary, if its june 18, mine is the same. 15 yrs, i am also a homeschooler of 4 and got a degree in photog. but it was before digital, so i feel i need to start over. love your blog

Hey Summer,
Thanks for commenting. I think after having kids and starting to homeschool, everything we knew in our former life is kind of like starting over but a bit better. You have more patience and wisdom and are able to take the good of what you had pre kids and make it even better post kids.
I say all that to say, you will have to go from film to SLR. Don’t worry all the pros are selling their old film stuff and moving along with technology. I think students may learn some with film, kind of like we would teach our kids the type writer over the computer. Good for typing skills but doesn’t really get you anywhere on a computer.
Don’t worry, I believe in you, you can do it. I taught myself everything, by just reading and practicing. Some things will transfer over, but you will have to learn a bunch more fun stuff. Life is learning right:-)Sell your old film stuff on Craigs List and buy an older model SLR. Of course I recommend Nikon but I am bias:-) If you need any tips, let me know. I am happy to help.
