Photo Friday:My breakfast……

November 14th, 2008

There are some benefits to running 25 miles a week.

Not only that, but I wanted to capture that morning light, the chocolate brown and teal blue with my favorite dish towel. Really, I love shooting still lifes and tablescapes. When you are thinking about things you want to capture with whatever camera you have, think composition and natural lighting. You can put a Tupperware container containing some fresh tomatoes or fruit in the natural light, compose it artfully, stand above it and take a picture, and you can hang that shot in a museum. Maybe not the MOMA but a kitschy touristy museum. You get my point!

So now I have an idea for you dear readers, but it will only work if you comment and participate. Could I drop any more of a hint with that one. I was thinking a photo Friday every week. Post our favorite pic of the week on your flickr or blog, and leave a comment and link here so we all can see. Then we can all go and leave comments for you, you little artist you. I am finding that blogging is so much more fun when people participate. So comment away and pull out that point and shoot or SLR and give me your best shot.

So let’s try today, totally random and not planned but let’s just see what happens. I am kinda like that, just pull a wild hair out and go for it type gal.

the photo I would be sharing is the one that i’m thinking probably inspired this little teal, breakfast desert, and glass of milk shot you are featuring here (nice one, btw).
    You know the one.
    =)
next Friday, I am in. Are you going to theme or just go?

OH yes, you KNOW I LOVE that image and that was in the back of my mind, but I found this blog last night and http://simplybreakfast.blogspot.com/ and it inspired me. I can’t stop thinking about it. You will start seeing tons of food scapes on my flickr now. That spot is the best spot with the morning light, so I am going to work it to my advantage. I am not sure about a theme. Maybe,…. I will keep you posted, I am so happy you are in!

Secondly, you have a freak metabolism and it is unfair that you can eat like that and still stay so thin. I will choose to love you anyway:-)

Oh my goodness. My sister sent me a link to your site and I absolutely love it. Your photos are amazing…and I caught the bit about a marathon. I may have finally stumbled upon some real kindred spirits! Beautiful breakfast shot btw, I love the color of the plate with the brownie.

Welcome to the fun Karyn….it is always a bowl a laughs around here.

Lora, better or bigger:-) Heck I don’t know her at all, but after that site I just wanted to sit down and eat. I mean dang, I am lucky if I pound in a protein shake between math problems, let alone make something look that pretty and probably tasty every day. Girl has some time on her hands:-)

It was taken at a friend’s baby shower and the hostess is pretty much the best party-thrower-cook I know. So beautiful, and delicious!
