100% Positive!

October 24th, 2007

…that no one else in the North American Continent, dare I say even the world….

started their day with a 5lb bag of sugar being poured all over the floor, the couch and the carpet.

I found him after he started trying to clean it up. SIGH!  At least he was trying to clean it up. Honestly, people, don’t ask OK - School is postponed a few hours for some KP.

*****Update*****

OK - I bagged the agenda and we got most of school work completed by dinner time.  I am also almost positive that no mom in North America ended the day by sitting on the stairs and having their 4 year old princess say…

“Mom you don’t look so beautiful, you look a little wild. Sit down and let me brush your hair”  She then proceeded to brush my hair and put pretend makeup on my face.  I said I was sorry for having a bad attitude today.  She said “It is OK - I understand.  I get really frustrated when my stuff gets ruined too” and then she gave me a hug.

One bonus…..I have a REALLY clean house to start my day off tomorrow.

Little did I know what would happen once I noticed that one of our caterpillars had assumed the J-position. I called daughter Julia in to the kitchen: “Our caterpillar is getting ready to be a butterfly!” I explained excitedly that he hangs upside down in that J-position, and that if we were able to look inside him once he’s a pupa, we would see nothing but mush as his insides get completely rearranged to make a butterfly.

Her question: why would we want to look inside him? Then: why do people cut open caterpillar pupae? That is mean. Then: I hate that you bought dead animals on the internet to cut open for biology class. It makes me sick. Why must you shorten even more their very short lives?!? Suffering for the sake of knowlege is so wrong! I hate science!

The magic and wonder of new life…

I love it! Julia is our little humanitarian.

I prayed over the kids last night while they slept. I prayed that any ill used words said in frustration would be swept away. That they would remember that I have more good days then bad days and that Jesus would cover my huge gap.

Tomorrow (today) is a new day, a clean slate. I hope today is much better than yesterday and that it is filled with smiles rather than spilled sugar!

Oh yes, Randi - Today has been wonderful! Thanks for the encouragement. I never really understood the phrase “It’s like spilt sugar”. Now I do. I was still cleaning it at 5:30, but I do have a clean house today which helps with everything for me. I also got up before the crew which I usually do but yesterday I thought I would indulge and sleep in. For me, that starts my day in trouble so I have learned to be up before the kids or I am one foot in the hole already.

Hope your day was great too. I Love your recent apron. It is so cute. Are you taking orders:-)?
