What I Learned from Getting Up Early!
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. As a homeschooling mom with three young children who has a home based business I have had a hard time fitting everything in. It wasn’t until recently, that I finally took the plung and realized that nothing was going to change unless I did something different.
So I did it. I set the alarm and starting waking up at 5am. It is revolutionary what it has done in my life. Less stress, more space, more time for me. True, I have had to sacrifice sleep, but I have found I don’t really miss it. It has been so life giving that I actually wrote an article on Tips to Getting Up Early so that I could really own my process. I hope you find it helpful.
This post is sponsored by Middle Zone Musings group writing project on change.
I have tried this as well, but found that I missed my sleep dearly. To make it all fit, I had to readjust my priorities. It’s all good.

Good for you! If you’re going to add more time to your day, the morning is far better than the evening - far fewer distractions. Then when everyone else gets up, you’re already ahead of the day!
Hey, thanks for participating in this month’s project!

Amanda, I know what you mean. It was tough the first week or so, but my attitude is horrible when I get woken up before I am ready. My kids are still little and they can wake me up before 7 on most days. I found myself starting my day, angry and crabby, so for me this is helping me start my day with a “song in my heart” if you know what I mean. For me right now, it is my only “me” time so I am starting to crave it.

I don’t have a problem getting up really early in the morning. Like you, I crave it. Very interesting article.
Now, can you write about how to keep kids in bed until 7AM? LOL

I have tried this more times than I would like to remember, but it never stuck for various reasons. I do miss my sleep and for me, I go to bed late being that I have always been a late owl and that is when my house is quietest once the wee ones have gone to bed. I am proud of/for you and awesome job with the writing submission.

Flo - that is so funny about the kids staying in bed until 7. I guess they will be teenagers one day and I will need dynamite to get them up and going:-)
Southern Girl, I used to be a night owl too. But with the kids getting me up so dang early, I was always a super crabby mommy. Not good for morning stress around here:-)
Jacci, thanks for the invite..I will get my post ready for ya:-)
Peace to all~

Since I now HAVE to get up at 6:00 am since I have to be at work at 7:30 am (and drop the kids at school), I am now looking towards getting up 45 minutes earlier to work out. Otherwise, there is NO time. I do my best to go to bed before 10 pm, I have to make myself lie down or the next day will be terrible. And I will still be a night owl on vacations and holidays, I am trying to readjust! Good for you Amber!
