So our 4 year old is still in 2T’s.  She is in the 25%.  She is healthy and thriving, just small.  So her jeans still fit everywhere but the length.  My friend recommended putting some ribbon on the bottom to give her another year out of them.

 Aren’t they cute?

  4. VERY CUTE!

I have skinny boys and they are always growing out of their jeans (in length)… Even with the adjustable waist, it makes for A LOT of gathering on top. Too bad I can’t think of a way to make this work for boys w/out making them look like sissy’s.

    Have a great week!

  5. Maybe for boys some flannel or truck fabric! Mine is skinny but long- they fit the length and not the waste, but the next size down is too small. I guess the solution is to make your own!

  6. Rebekah, I was thinking the same thing. Wide cuff flannel would be cute on the bottom.

Marsha, You could always give it a go and if it doesn’t work then scrap them but if it does then you are better off.

  8. My,soon to be, 7 year old is a 2T around. She is a 6-7 in length. I am going to be using this idea to keep her in long pants for the winter. It’s either that or duct tape the waistband to her tummy! ;)

I have never had the problem of my pants being too big in the waist. :)

  9. Your 4 yo is not small at all, but instead, average.
If you took 100 kids and put them all at one of the percents, do you suppose only 1 of the 100 would be average and everyone else would either be small or large? Not possible, according to the definition of average.

3rd %ile is small. 25th % is in normal range.
