Happy 6th Birthday Big Boy!
Our oldest is six as of and hour ago. Where has the time gone? I was a bit melancholy yesterday thinking “It’s 1/3 of the way over all ready.” Mike chuckled at me. My Mom said “It’s never over honey”. But you know what I mean.
As I have been praying with God over our children, little glimmers of His handy work peek out at me. Like watching a seed sprout. Jackson is a passionate and determined (slightly perfectionist) thinker. He observes things for long periods of time and then jumps in with gusto, He loves to “experiment”. My prayer is that he will always ask healthy questions and that he will continue to love learning like he does now.
I’ve spoken in other posts about how important is is to us to name our children with meaning. Jackson’s name means “Yahweh is gracious”. After 2 years of trying to get pregnant and a miscarriage before Jackson, I was unsure I would ever have kids. Looking back now, it was all about timing.
His middle name is Caleb. The meaning of the name is faithful, intrepid, and victorious — a great description of the Old Testament Caleb, who was one of only two ancient Israelites (Joshua was the other) who set out with Moses from Egypt to finally enter the promised land.
So today, sweet boy, Mommy and Daddy pray many blessings over you. May you be a blessing to the world with your God given, curiosity, passion and thoughtfulness. Grace and Peace to you dear one.
